Fridrich & Clark launches INNOVATIVE program to improve safety in our community

After reviewing statistics and seeing the evidence of the dangers of cell phone use while driving, Fridrich & Clark managers have encouraged our Realtors to stop using their cars as "mobile offices".  Because the practice of cell phone use, while driving, greatly increases the risk of accidents, we have asked agents to break the habit of using electronic devices while driving.  We are concerned about the safety of agents, their families, their clients, and our fellow citizens.

Some facts supporting Fridrich & Clark's stance are:

  • Text messaging while driving increases the risk of accidents by 23.2 times (Virginia Tech Driving Institute)
  • Distraction from cell phone use while driving extends a driver's reaction time as much as a blood alcohol concentration at the legal limit of .08 percent (University of Utah Study)
  • 2,600 traffic deaths are caused each year by drivers using cell phones (Harvard Study).  That increases to 6,000 deaths per year caused by either cell phone, texting, or email usage behind the wheel.

We invite you to join us in this campaign.  Some very personal insights into the consequences of this dangerous practice can be seen at:
